The BJP on Wednesday released its ‘Sankalppatra’ (manifesto) for the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly elections, promising 25,000 jobs for youth, new schemes for girls, women, farmers and development of infrastructure in the state. The ‘Sankalppatra’ released by BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda has expressed the commitment that if the BJP government is formed, the party will double the per capita income within the next 5 years. The party aims to become the second largest economy with the highest per capita income among the northeastern states by 2047.
Nadda later wrote on Twitter, “This ‘Sankalpatra’ will act as a catalyst in our ongoing efforts to make Arunachal Pradesh a leading state by rapidly advancing infrastructure, connectivity, healthcare and education.” He said that under the guidance of PM Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, the party will take forward our DTH model of development, transparency and harmony and ensure the dream of ‘Developed Arunachal’ in sync with ‘Developed India’.
BJP made these promises to the public-
- The BJP promised to increase the financial assistance under PM Kisan Yojana from Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000 and launch ‘Arunachal Pradesh Agri-Infra Mission’ under the self-reliant scheme to ensure overall agricultural infrastructure.
- The party also announced to launch ‘Mithun and Yak Rearing Mission’ to conserve indigenous breeds and enhance the livelihood of local communities if voted to power.
- The saffron party reinstated ‘Dulari Kanya Yojana’ to provide cumulative financial assistance of Rs 50,000 to every girl enrolled in undergraduate or professional courses for girls and women and to provide LPG cylinders at Rs 400 to beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. - Under PM Mudra Yojana, BJP is committed to offer low interest loans up to Rs 10 lakh to young women entrepreneurs.
- A corpus fund of Rs 1,000 crore will be launched to upgrade existing government schools in line with the Arun Shree Mission and provide quality education to students. The ‘Sankalpatra’ states that ‘Arunachal Pradesh Gati Shakti Master Plan’ will be launched. Also, multi-modal connectivity and integrated infrastructure development will be promoted by implementing important projects in roadways, railways and airways.
- The party also promised to work towards holistic infrastructural development of Tirap-Changlong-Longding (TCL) districts to ensure equitable development and introduced a fleet of Suryoday EV buses and EV charging stations to ensure net zero emissions Will go.
- Upon returning to power, the BJP assured to allocate Rs 1,000 crore to ensure healthcare for all by modernizing medical infrastructure and increasing bed capacity in all sub-centres, PHCs, CHCs and district hospitals.
- Under the Medicine from the Sky initiative, the ruling party promised to connect more than 500 remote villages using drones to deliver life-saving medicines, essential medical supplies and diagnostic samples.
- Other key promises announced in the ‘Sankalp Patra’ include the launch of the revamped Seva Aapke Dwar 3.0, appointing a Jan Sevak volunteer for every 100 households to guarantee efficient doorstep delivery of government services and setting up women-run Suryoday canteens at the local level. . Under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, nutritious food and free rice will be provided to 8.5 lakh people every month.
- The BJP also promised to launch ‘One Tribe-One Weave’ initiative to provide comprehensive support to artisans from the initial stages of product development to successful market entry.
- The party resolved to organize an annual Arunachal Pradesh Cultural Fair, a unique festival to uplift and showcase the rich cultural heritage of the tribal communities in Arunachal.
- The resolution states that a magnificent ‘Statue of Valour’ will be constructed in a vibrant village symbolizing the bravery and resilience of the people of Arunachal Pradesh.
Elections for two Lok Sabha seats – Arunachal West and Arunachal East as well as 50 of the 60 assembly seats in Arunachal will be held on April 19. Counting of votes for the assembly elections will take place on June 2, while the results of the Lok Sabha elections will be declared on June 4.
