The Indian Navy is moving ahead with the target of fully equipping its entire fleet with BrahMos supersonic missiles by 2030. If this happens, there will be an unprecedented increase in India’s firepower in the sea. The Indian Navy will be able to destroy the enemy’s bases by firing more than 300 BrahMos supersonic missiles simultaneously at any time. It has emerged as one of the most deadly weapons for the Indian armed forces with the way BrahMos has demonstrated its firepower and power in Operation Sindoor.
Navy strength increased due to BrahMos missiles
Given the success of BrahMos supersonic missiles, the Indian Navy has also equipped both its new stealth frigate INS Udayagiri and INS Himgiri with indigenous BrahMos supersonic missiles. With the launch of these two new stealth frigates, the Indian Navy now has 14 guided missile stealth frigates and each of them has 8 vertical launch BrahMos anti-ship missiles.
By 2030, 20 stealth frigates equipped with BrahMos will be deployed
Apart from these, the Navy currently has 6 Talwar category warships, out of which BrahMos missiles have been deployed and the remaining two are also being advanced. Russia has handed over INS Tutil and INS Tamal to India, the remaining two are also going to join the Navy fleet soon. Thus, by the end of 2030, the Indian Navy will have 20 stealth frigates equipped with BrahMos missiles. In addition, there will be 7 Nilgiri category, 3 Shivalik category and 10 sword class warships, and they will also be equipped with BrahMos supersonic missiles.
Navy will be able to stain more than 300 BrahMos missiles simultaneously
The Indian Navy also has 13 destroyers in the service of the country. 16 BrahMos vertical launch can be deployed simultaneously in new destructive ships, while the old each has a capacity of 8. Out of these 13, 4 are Visakhapatnam category, 3 of Kolkata category, 3 of Delhi category and 3 are demolitions of Rajput category. If the firepower of all of them is merged together, by 2030 the Indian Navy can destroy the enemy’s bases by firing 300 BrahMos missiles simultaneously.
