Singapore: The injured passengers of the Singapore Airlines plane that was hit by turbulence are being treated in hospitals in Bangkok. Even four days after the accident, 43 patients are admitted in three different hospitals in Bangkok. Doctors say that all those admitted in the hospital are out of danger. There are 34 patients admitted in Samitivej Srinakarin Hospital, out of which seven are in intensive care. Of these, 3 are Australians, 2 Malaysians, one British and one New Zealand citizen. 22 passengers admitted in the hospital have spinal injuries and six passengers have head injuries.
The plane got hit by turbulence
The plane flying from London to Singapore suddenly faced turbulence on Tuesday and within three minutes it descended 6,000 feet. During this, a 73-year-old British man died in the plane. Officials had said that the 73-year-old British man may have had a heart attack, although this has not been confirmed. There were a total of 229 people on board the plane, including 211 passengers and 18 crew members.

The oldest patient admitted to hospital due to injuries caused by turbulence is 83 years old. About 60 passengers were injured when the plane suddenly experienced intense turbulence over the Irrawaddy basin at an altitude of 37,000 feet, about 10 hours after takeoff. The flight from London to Singapore was landed in an emergency in Bangkok.

Singapore Airlines has given details of the nationalities of the 229 people (211 passengers and 18 crew members) on board the plane. There were 56 Australians, two Canadians, one German, three Indians, two Indonesians, one Iceland, four Irish, one Israeli, 16 Malaysians, two Myanmar, 23 New Zealanders, five Philippines, 41 Singaporeans, one South Korean, two Spanish, 47 Britishers and four Americans on board.
