After the death of three students due to waterlogging in the basement of ‘Rouse IAS Study Circle’ located in Rajendra Nagar, Delhi, the grip of police and MCD is getting tighter. On Wednesday, MCD again sealed the basements of 5 coaching centers. On the other hand, statements of 16 employees of Rouse IAS coaching were recorded. MCD has sealed 3 basements of coaching centres in Uttam Nagar and Vikas Puri area of West Zone and 2 basements of coaching centres in South Zone. In West Zone, action has been taken against Insta Infotech, British College of Language and Lal Bahadur Training Institute. While in South Zone, basements of The Get Coach and Kem Time have been sealed. Notices were also issued to coaching centres and property owners in different zones for misuse of property and violation of building bylaws. Earlier, MCD had locked the basements of 27 coaching centres.

On the other hand, Delhi Police said that statements of the employees of Rouse Coaching Center have been recorded. Delhi Municipal Corporation (MCD) officials have been asked to join the investigation. However, they have not yet brought the necessary documents regarding the removal of silt and when the cleaning was done earlier. They will be asked about this by sending a letter again. In response to whether the library was running illegally in the basement, he said, the employees were not aware of it. The coaching owner had installed iron plates at the entrance so that water could not enter the building. According to the police officer associated with the investigation, the police have also recorded the statements of some students who were present at the spot.

On the other hand, the students’ protest continued today as well. Despite heavy rain, many students are still standing outside the coaching centre and protesting. On the other hand, Shima Kathuria, wife of car driver Manuj Kathuria, expressed disappointment over the court’s decision. She said, we are very disappointed with the bail petition being rejected. We were hoping that Manuj would return home tonight but he will have to spend another night in jail without any fault. The High Court judge said three times about arresting a passerby, sooner or later we will get justice.
