5 summoned in RG Kar murder case, 3 arrested, CBI in action

A doctor was raped and murdered in RG Kar Hospital.Kolkata High Court handed over the investigation of the case to CBI.CBI has intensified the investigation into the case.

New Delhi. The CBI investigation has intensified in the case of alleged rape and murder of a female doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital. On Thursday, the investigation team arrested three suspects in this case. They have not been identified yet. The CBI’s Special Crime Branch team summoned 5 doctors today for questioning in connection with the case. Apart from the hospital’s former MS Sanjay Vashisht, Chest Department HOD Arunav Dutta Chaudhary, Associate Professor of Forensic Medicine Reena Das, Mouli Banerjee and Apurva Biswas from the Forensic Medicine Department have been summoned by the CBI for questioning.

Doctors on duty were questioned…
The CBI also spoke to the students and doctors who were on duty that night. The Kolkata High Court had also ordered the CBI to investigate the RG Tax case. Documents related to this case were handed over to the agency at night. After which CBI officials took the arrested accused in their custody. They also reached the crime scene. Mamata Banerjee has given Kolkata Police time till next Sunday to investigate the RG Tax case. She had already said that she has no objection to handing over the doctor’s murder case to the CBI. However, before she could hand over the case to the CBI, the Kolkata High Court itself handed over the case to the CBI on Tuesday.

A team of 20 CBI officers is investigating…
On Tuesday itself, the CBI had taken the certified copy of the FIR from Tala police station in Kolkata. After which the CBI registered a case in this regard late at night. A CBI team from Delhi has reached Kolkata with medical and forensic officials to investigate this case. The CBI took the accused Sanjay Roy, arrested by the police, into its custody. It is being told that 20 CBI officers are investigating the RG Tax case under the leadership of a joint director.
