Bhopal. In Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh, the government has cancelled the recognition of 56 out of 80 madrasas. It is being told that the rules were being violated in these madrasas. There is also an allegation that some madrasas were taking grants from the government in the name of Hindu children. After the cancellation of recognition of madrasas, politics is also heated up. School Education Minister of the state’s BJP government, Uday Pratap Singh, told the media that madrasas were given recognition and grants, but discrepancies were found in their functioning. Due to this, their recognition was cancelled. According to the information, Rs 125 crore is to be recovered from these madrasas. Earlier, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights had found that 9427 Hindu children are studying Islam in 1505 madrasas of Madhya Pradesh.

Madhya Pradesh School Minister Uday Pratap Singh has said that any school where irregularities are found will be closed.

The School Education Minister alleges that recognition was taken from the Madrasa Board in Sheopur, but they were not teaching children. Action was taken after its investigation. He said that every child has the right to education under the Right to Education. He told that the functioning of the Madrasas was being investigated for the last 7-8 months. The decision to cancel the recognition of 56 Madrasas was taken only after its report came. He clearly said that if the right to education of children is violated in any school, it will be closed. Uday Pratap Singh said that CM Mohan Yadav has instructed that action will be taken against those who break the rules. Now the rest of the Madrasas in the state will also be investigated. Information has also been received that the Mohan Yadav government is also going to investigate the schools of missionary institutions and NGOs taking grants.

Congress MLA from Madhya Pradesh, Arif Masood, has said that he will take the matter of de-recognising madrassas to the Supreme Court.

On the other hand, Congress has come forward in this matter and is accusing that Mohan Yadav government is sending investigation committees to cancel the recognition of madrasas and is saying that madrasas should be closed. Congress MLA Arif Masood said that if madrasas are not allowed to run, we will fight for it. He accused BJP of spreading hatred and said that this matter will be taken to the Supreme Court. Congress MLA said that madrasas were not given grants and due to that deficiencies were found.
