Raipur. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested six persons, including three doctors, for providing facility to submit a favorable inspection report in lieu of bribe. This action is part of a large case of manipulating the statutory inspection process of recognizing medical colleges. The CBI had registered a case against Shri Rawatpura Sarkar Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Nawa Raipur, Chhattisgarh officials, doctors and other middlemen for manipulating the medical college inspection process instead of bribes. According to the information, the designated values allegedly gave a favorable report to various medical colleges by allegedly illegally Rs 55 lakh.
The CBI had received information that the officials of Shri Rawatpura government institute were impressing the inspectors to submit a favorable report. Acting on this information, the CBI laid a trap and caught six persons while transacting the amount of bribe. The arrested accused will be produced before the competent courts at the respective places.
According to reports, various methods were being used to manipulate the process by illegally affecting the doctors inspecting by the accused. A search operation is being conducted by the CBI at more than 40 places including Karnataka, Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Madhya Pradesh. Further investigation is on in this case.
