Mumbai There is an increase in cases of Corona virus infection in Maharashtra. According to the State Health Department, 69 new patients of Corona have emerged on Monday. With this, the total number of active cases in the state has increased to 278.

Of the 69 new cases on Monday, 37 cases have been reported from Mumbai. Apart from this, 19 cases have been reported in Thane, 7 in Navi Mumbai, 2 in Pune and 1-1 from Pimpri Chinchwad along with Ratnagiri, Kolhapur, Latur.

A total of 7,830 samples have been investigated in the state since January 2025, out of which 369 samples have confirmed the corona virus infection. Out of these cases, 285 cases have been registered from Mumbai alone, which remains the biggest hotspot of infection.

In addition, on Monday, 87 patients recovered from Kovid and discharged from the hospital, causing some decrease in the number of active cases. However, since January 2025, a total of 4 patients in the state have died due to complications related to Kovid.

According to the Health Department, one of these four deaths had hypocalcemic cesar and nephrotic syndrome, the other was cancer, the third was visiting the Cerebrovascular disease (stroke), while the fourth had diabetes ketooseidosis (DKA) and Lower Respiratory Tract Infection.

The sporadic growth in the number of Kovid patients is being seen not only in Maharashtra but also in other states and some other countries. Experts say that there is a possibility of surge in cases due to changing weather and increase in travel.

Meanwhile, many states are on alert in view of the situation. While issuing advisory in this regard, it has also been said to take precautionary measures by the Ministry of Health of many states.
