Central employees can once again get the gift of increase in dearness allowance. AICPI data shows that employees may get a hike of 4 to 5 per cent in DA in July this time. If this happens, then the central employees can see a big increase in the salary. At the same time, along with this DA increase, some other allowances may also increase. Let us know what are these allowances, in which the government can increase.
The latest DA hike of 3 per cent was given by the Center earlier this year to central government employees. After this hike, the DA figure for central employees under the 7th Pay Commission is 34 per cent and employees may get 38 or 39 per cent DA after July. Because the new figures of the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI) are indicating an increase in DA by 4 to 5 percent.
Apart from DA, the central government gives several allowances to government employees, which is affected on the increase of DA. In view of this, the Center may consider revising the rates of 4 other allowances. The government’s seal on the increase in these allowances will lead to a bumper increase in the payment of central government employees.
What allowances are expected to increase
The central government can also increase the traveling allowance and city allowance of the employees. Apart from this, employees of the Center are likely to see an increase in provident fund and gratuity, which is calculated on the basis of basic pay and DA. This hike may coincide with the DA hike in July.
Increase in HRA and TA
The increase in DA will also pave the way for an increase in House Rent Allowance (HRA) and Travel Allowance (TA) for central government employees. If the central employees get an increase in these allowances, then their salary will increase further in the month of July.
