8 players from Delhi University will participate in Paris Olympics 2024.
Paris Olympics 2024: The Olympic Games will begin in Paris, the capital of France, from July 26. This time a team of 117 Indian athletes has left for the Olympics, which also includes 8 students of Delhi University. Out of these, 2 are currently students of DU, while 6 are alumni. Out of the 8 students of Delhi University participating in the Paris Olympics, 6 are participating in shooting events, while one player is participating in table tennis and one in athletics events.
Ramita and Rhythm are current students while Manu Bhaker and Shreyasi Singh are also included in the list
The two current students of Delhi University who have reached to participate in Paris Olympics 2024 include Ramita Jindal and Rhythm Sangwan, who are participating in shooting events. Ramita, who is studying in the final year of B.Com from Hansraj College, will participate in the air rifle event in the Paris Olympics, while Rhythm is studying English Honors from Lady Shri Ram College and will participate in the 10 meter air pistol event in the Paris Olympics. Talking about other players, Manu Bhaker, who is participating in the shooting event, is included in it, who has completed her graduation in Political Science from Lady Shri Ram College. Apart from this, Shreyasi Singh, who completed her studies from Hansraj College in the year 2012, is participating in the women’s trap shooting event in Olympics 2024. Skeet shooter Maheshwari Chauhan and trap shooter Rajeshwari Kumari have also been students of Delhi University.
Table tennis player Manika Batra is also a DU alumnus
Table tennis player Manika Batra, who will participate in Paris Olympics 2024, is also an alumnus of Delhi University. She has studied Sociology Honors from Jesus and Mary College. In track and field, 400 meter runner Amoj Jacob has done B.Com from Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa College between 2016 and 2019. He is part of the 4×400 meter men’s relay team.
