The Government of India and government agencies also offer many apps under the Digital India campaign. The biggest advantage of these apps is that you do not have to stand in long lines to get government work or other important work done. 1) BHIM UPI App
BHIM UPI is the most popular government app for digital payments. It can be used as a digital wallet. You can use this app to transfer money from one bank account to another. With BHIM UPI you can do money transactions anytime, anywhere. Payment can also be made by scanning the QR code from the app. This app is offered by National Payments Corporation of India.
2) DigiLocker App
As the name suggests, this app works as a digital locker. You can store your documents digitally using this app. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) offers this app under the Digital India campaign of the Government of India.
Due to DigiLocker, you do not need a physical copy of your important documents like Driving Licence, RC, Aadhar and PAN. This app can be used to issue and verify documents and certificates. Once you upload the documents in the app, you can easily access them on your mobile device.
3) GST Rate Finder App
With the help of this app, you can get information about Goods and Services Tax (GST). In this app, you will get all the information related to GST easily with a simple interface. You can get information about the GST rate applicable on any item through this app. This app is offered by Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC).
4) Indian Police at Your Call App
The National Informatics Center (NIC) has launched this app under the Digital India initiative. This app has been designed for the safety and security of the citizens. With this app you can also find the police station present near any location.
With the help of this app you can reach the police station as you are shown the way along with all the major landmarks on the way. In this app you will also get the contact numbers of Police Station, District Control Room and Office of the Superintendent of Police.
5) mAadhaar App
With the mAadhaar app, you can download and display your Aadhaar at any time. That is, you do not need to carry a physical copy of Aadhaar. The digital version or soft copy of Aadhaar can be downloaded in the app and it is also easy to use for verification. Apart from this, you can also get your Aadhar card reprinted through this app. The app supports languages like Hindi, Bangla, Kannada etc.
6) mParivahan App
The mParivahan app offered by the National Informatics Center (NIC) is of great use. Through this app, you can access information related to Regional Transport Office (RTO) and vehicles. You can also find RTOs and Pollution Checking Centers near you from the app.
Apart from this, you can also give a mock driving license test using the app. If you are buying a used vehicle then this app will be very useful. You can check the registration details and purchase date of the car using the registration number of the car.
7) mPassport Seva App
The mPassport Seva app is offered by the Passport and Visa (CPV) Division of the Ministry of External Affairs. It is a part of the Passport Seva Project and is designed to offer passport-related services to the general public. With this app, you can do many important tasks related to passport like finding Passport Seva Kendra, tracking application status.
Apart from this, you can also apply for passport sitting at home with the mPassport app.
8) UMANG App
Through the UMANG app, you can take advantage of many government services. That is, you will get the benefit of many government services in a single app. Whether it is a service related to the local body or the state government, you can do your work through this app.
The biggest advantage of this app is that you do not have to download many apps for different government works. This app is offered jointly by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and National e-Governance Division (NeGD).
