Let us tell you that on July 30, due to extremely heavy rains in Wayanad, a major landslide occurred in Mundakki, Chooralmala, Vellarimala villages. After this tragedy, the Modi government took immediate action and deployed more than 1200 rescue personnel including NDRF, Army, Air Force, Navy, Fire Services, Civil Defense. More than 100 ambulances and teams of doctors were deployed. So far 416 people have been reported dead and 150 people are missing in this tragedy.
The Indian Army built a 190-foot Bailey bridge in Wayanad, which proved to be important in the movement of heavy machinery and ambulances. The construction of this bridge was completed in just 71 hours. In fact, after the landslide, connectivity was lost in many areas of Wayanad. In such a situation, the Indian Army has demonstrated its capability by building this bridge. The construction of this bridge has speeded up rescue operations and helped in taking people to safe places. This achievement of the Indian Army is really commendable.
