Fast Track Special Court of Digarh sentenced Hiralal alias Guddu to death on June 3 in a heartbreaking case. The case is related to the kidnapping, rape and murder of an 8 -year -old innocent girl in Halomajra in January 2024. This decision is being seen as a victory of justice in the city. On 19 January 2024, a girl resident of Halmajra suddenly went missing. The family started searching for him, but no clue was found. When the police got information, the investigation started. Blood -stained clothes were recovered from the neighborhood house, after which the police got suspicious.
On the third day, the body of the girl was found near a garbage heap in the forests of Ram Darbar. The body was half -hearted and the rape was confirmed in the post -mortem along with a knife wound on the neck. The police arrested the accused Hiralal from Ara district of Bihar seven days later on the basis of CCTV footage and other evidence. Hiralal was originally from Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh and lived in the victim’s neighborhood. The investigation proved the DNA report and other evidence involved in his rape and murder.
The court considered the case as ‘rare’ and convicted Hiralal under sections 302, 363, 366, 376 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 6 of the Poxo Act. The judge said that ‘this crime is going to shake the soul of society.’ The matter will now go to the Punjab and Haryana High Court to confirm the sentence. The verdict has brought some relief to the victim’s family, but the memories of the daughter still refresh their pain. The discussion of this decision in the city is in full swing.
