New Delhi. Today is the 91st birth anniversary of APJ Abdul Kalam, the 11th President of India and Missile Man. His full name is Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam. He was born on 15 October 1931 in an ordinary family in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. Kalam’s father’s name was Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam and mother’s name was Ashima Jainulabdeen. Kalam’s father had a dream that Abdul became a collector, but where did anyone know at that time that his name would be written in golden letters in Indian history. Kalam has a special place in the hearts of the people. Worked as a great thinker, writer and scientist. Newspaper throwing at the station
APJ Abdul Kalam ji has also done the work of selling newspapers at one time. Kalam was inspired by his cousin Shamsuddin. Shamsuddin used to work as a newspaper unloader at the station at that time. During World War 2, India was asked to join the Allied Forces. There was an emergency like situation in the country. Trains have stopped halting at Rameshwaram and Dhanushkodi stations. Where earlier newspapers were being dropped from the train, now the newspapers started being thrown, at that time Shamsuddin needed a companion and APJ Abdul Kalam was made with him.
honored with Padma Bhushan
Kalam was awarded Padma Bhushan by the Government of India in 1981. After this, he was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 1990 and Bharat Ratna, the country’s highest civilian honor, in 1997. He is the third President of the country to receive the Bharat Ratna. Along with this, APJ Abdul Kalam was appointed Defense Advisor from 1992 to 1999.
