Purnia. The biggest cinema hall of North Bihar, 4 Star, famous as the heritage of Purnia district of Bihar, collapsed like a pack of cards in just a few seconds. The huge building of the Four Star cinema hall was demolished in just 10 seconds. Purnia’s Four Star was built by Purnia’s famous doctor Mohan Rai who lives in America.
It is said that Mohan Rai had saved the life of Amitabh Bachchan, the superstar of the century, by treating him in America, due to which Amitabh Bachchan gave his film Sharabi for free at the inauguration of the 4 star cinema hall. Also, Amitabh Bachchan himself was going to come to Purnia to inaugurate this cinema hall. But, he could not come then due to some security reason.
The cinema hall was built 40 years ago
There is a lot of disappointment among the people of Purnia due to the demolition of this four star. Locals Samir Anand, Rajesh Bharti and dozens of others said that this 40-year-old hall built in 1984 was the identity of Purnia at that time. This hall had a 70 mm screen, which was considered the biggest cinema hall of North Bihar at that time. People used to come here to watch movies with great interest. But, this cinema hall was closed for the last several years.
The mall will now be built afresh
After the death of Dr. Mohan Roy, this cinema hall and its land were sold. Now there is a plan to demolish this heritage and build a new mall here. As soon as people are getting the information that the four star has been demolished, people are coming from far and wide to see it. People are getting disappointed on seeing this.
