Whatsapp is working on a new feature from which users will also be able to talk to people who have neither WhatsApp account nor app installed. According to a report by WABETAINFO, this feature is currently in testing stage in Android beta version 2.25.22.13 and can be rolled out in the coming weeks.
How will the new guest chat feature work?
The name of this feature will be “Guest Chats”, in which WhatsApp users will be able to start a direct chat with a non-user through an invoice link. The special thing is that the receiver will neither have to install WhatsApp nor create an account. They will be able to access the chat by clicking on the link through a safe web interface, exactly like WhatsApp web.
Privacy is also completely safe
WhatsApp claims that all messages in guest chat will be end-to-end encrypted, so that only the sender and the receiver will be able to see the message. This feature will be completely based on the internal system of WhatsApp, making this experience become comfortable and reliable.
There will be some limitations
However, there will be some restrictions in guest chat:
You will not be able to share photos, videos or gif
Voice and video messages will not be an option
Calling facility will also not be available
This facility will only be for face-to-face chat, there will be no support for group chat
What is WhatsApp strategy?
WhatsApp probably wants to give non-usefuls an easy way to try the app through this feature so that people can experience chatting without perfectly signed. This can be an easy way to connect them to the world of WhatsApp.
When will this facility be available?
The company is currently conducting an internal test of this facility. No official launch date has been announced so far, but it may be available to beta users in the coming months and then it is likely to be publicly available.
