Naveen Nischal, New Delhi: A man from Gujarat murdered his wife in Delhi and went into hiding for years, but was finally caught in Maharashtra. Actually, the crime branch team has arrested the accused who killed his wife through acid attack from Maharashtra. This accused was constantly changing his attire to escape from the police. He had grown a beard and was sometimes hiding somewhere in the temple under the pretext of serving. But now he has come into the custody of the police.
Police said that the arrested accused has been identified as 61 year old Jitendra alias Jeetu. A case was registered against this in Jahangirpuri police station last year. Delhi Police had also announced a reward of Rs 25 thousand for his arrest.
DCP Amit Goyal said that the team of Inspector Yogesh and Vinod Yadav, under the supervision of ACP Umesh Bharathwal, succeeded in finding out. Then there was a raid and he was caught and from there he was again brought to Delhi. Even before this, the police had conducted a raid to arrest him, but he escaped from there before the police arrived. After that the police team started investigating about it. To save himself, he did not even keep his mobile with him. So that his location can be tracked by the police.
Police said that nowadays the accused used to serve in a temple located in Kolhapur, Maharashtra. He is originally from Rajkot in Gujarat and later came to Delhi. Last year, he had attacked his wife with acid, due to which she later died. He suspected that his wife was having a love affair with someone else.
