There has been a dreadful incident of violence in Mumbra area of Thane, where a 10 -year -old girl was taken to an apartment in the name of getting a toy and brutally murdered. After this heinous crime on the night of 7 April, the accused has been identified as Asif Mansuri. According to the police report, Mansuri called the girl in her flat at around 10 pm to get the toy. After entering inside, he sexually abused the girl and then strangled her with a sharp weapon. In order to hide his crime, Mansuri threw the child’s half -hearted body from the window of the building. After receiving the body, the residents informed the officials, after which the police and the fire department immediately took action. Emergency services recovered the body of the victim after reaching the spot at around 11 pm. The post -mortem investigation later confirmed that the girl died due to excessive bleeding due to a knife attack on her neck. The report also confirmed evidence of sexual harassment.
The police arrested the accused Asif Mansoori, a resident of Bihar, soon after receiving the body. He has been charged under various sections of the Indian Justice Code (BNS), including strict provisions of children’s protection (POCSO) Act from sexual offenses.
The incident has caused resentment and widespread condemnation to the local community, the residents have demanded quick and rigorous justice for the victim. The police is continuing the investigation of the case so that further evidence can be gathered and the entire limit of Mansuri’s acts can be ascertained.
