maulana arshad madani
Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind President Maulana Arshad Madani has expressed deep grief and anger over the incidents of mob lynching in Chhattisgarh and Aligarh. He said that in the current Lok Sabha elections, most of the people of the country have rejected communalism and politics of hatred, but despite this, the poison of hatred that communalists have filled in the hearts and minds of people for the last few years has not ended completely. These incidents of Chhattisgarh and Aligarh are proof of this. He said that once again the miscreants have tarnished the image of humanity by demonstrating brutality and cruelty.
What did Maulana Madani say on mob lynching?
Maulana Madani said that despite the strict instructions of the Supreme Court, such tragic incidents are not stopping. While expressing anger over such incidents on 17 July 2018, the Supreme Court had clearly stated that no person can take the law into his own hands. The court had directed the Center to make a separate law to stop such incidents. Now if such inhuman incidents are happening even after this, then it clearly means that those who are doing this have no fear of the law. They are also confident that even if they are caught, nothing is going to happen to them, because even after the Supreme Court’s instructions, no separate law was brought in the Parliament. Except for a few states, no one made a law against mob violence.
“Is mob lynching a political problem, not a social one?”
It is noteworthy that a few days ago, at a place called Arang near Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, a group of miscreants stopped a truck loaded with animals and beat up the driver and two other youths so much that they died. They belong to Saharanpur and Shamli districts of Uttar Pradesh. One of them died on the spot while the other died as soon as he reached the hospital. Their names are Chand Mian and Guddu Khan. While the third youth Saddam Khan also died later during treatment. Maulana Madani said that mob violence is not a social problem, but a political problem and it can be solved only politically. Therefore, now the time has come that the parties calling themselves secular should come out openly against it and put pressure on the government to make a law against mob violence.
“Both the center and the state are not serious”
Maulana Madani also said that the latest incident has confirmed that neither the Centre nor the State is serious about stopping mob violence. In the changed political situation, secular parties should raise their voice against it with full force. After all, how long will a handful of people take the law in their hands and make a particular class a victim of their cruelty? He further said that according to newspaper reports, buffaloes were loaded on the truck. While there is no ban on buying and selling of buffaloes, then why did the communal elements do this? The answer to this is very simple that they did this on the basis of religion and hatred. Maulana Madani also expressed serious concern over the incident that took place in Balasore, Odisha on the occasion of Bakrid and said that the morale of communal elements is high across the country, because no legal action is taken against them.
