Coimbatore: A female doctor in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu has alleged molestation. According to the information, the trainee doctor at Coimbatore Medical College and Hospital alleged that there was an attempt to molest her. According to the victim, on the night of 14th August at around 9 pm, when she went to park her two-wheeler in front of the Dean’s office, a young man present there made obscene gestures. This frightened the victim. As soon as she started screaming, the young man ran away from there and the victim also went to her hostel room for safety.
The police arrested the accused late at night
On the complaint of the victim, the police arrested the accused Mayank Galar at around 1 am. Mayank is a resident of Madhya Pradesh and he had come to the hospital for a health checkup. On August 15, the trainee doctors had also protested demanding security. The accused has been sent to jail.
Order issued for checking and repairing CCTV cameras
After complaints and protests about non-functioning of CCTV cameras, CMO has issued orders to check and repair all 200 CCTV cameras installed in the campus with immediate effect. Night security has been further increased around the hostel. Instructions have been issued for immediate repair and regular maintenance of women’s washrooms inside the hospital so that women do not need to come to the hostel at night for washroom. After this incident, surveillance of Medical College and Hospital has been increased.
