It was being estimated that the rain on August 15 might disrupt the flag hoisting ceremony at the Red Fort, but this did not happen. But on Thursday late evening, many lakhs of Delhi received heavy rain and people got relief from heavy humidity. There was no news of traffic jam due to rain. Here, the Meteorological Department has not issued any warning of rain for Delhi, Ghaziabad and Gautam Buddha Nagar (Noida) for today i.e. August 16, while there is a warning of torrential rain in Gurgaon and Faridabad.
The Meteorological Department said that the monsoon has come to its actual position for now, due to which there will be continuous rain in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, East Rajasthan and Delhi in North India. The situation will be the same in the mountains as well. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Assam and Manipur areas in the North East. It is known that there has been record rainfall in the mountains for the last 15 days. Due to heavy rain, more than 140 roads have been closed in Himachal Pradesh. At the same time, the condition of Uttarakhand is also very bad.
IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over East Rajasthan, Gangetic West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and South Interior Karnataka. At the same time, heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir-Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana-Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh. The Meteorological Department said that there may be rain in Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Lakshadweep and coastal areas of the country. There is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal and Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Assam and Meghalaya.
The Meteorological Department has predicted a storm with a speed of 35 kmph to 45 kmph in many parts of the Arabian Sea, along with Karnataka and Kerala. Many parts of the Bay of Bengal, parts of the South-East Bay of Bengal, the Gangetic plains are likely to experience strong winds of 45 kmph to 55 kmph and 65 kmph. Fishermen have been advised not to go to these areas.
