Gurugram. The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) Gurugram today took a major action and arrested another accused Latif son Ashrau Khan (resident village Basai Meo, District Noon) from Jaisinghpura, Nuh in the case related to illegal mining and land fraud. With this arrest, the investigation has taken a new turn in this famous case. Accused Latif will be produced in court tomorrow, 30 June 2025. The arrest has been made under the prosecution number 18, dated 01.06.2025, including Section 201, 318 (2), 316 (2), 61, 270, 329 (3), 303 of the Indian Code (BNS), as well as Section 21 of the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act 1957, Section 15 (1) of the Environmental Protection Act 1986 (1) and Punjab Land Protection 1900. ACB, Gurugram received adequate facts and evidence during a thorough investigation against the accused, on the basis of which this action was taken.
Highlighting the seriousness of the case, ACB said that the accused Latif had hatched criminal conspiracy with Sher Mohammed, and three absconding accused Shabir son Rahman, Shaukat son Rahman and Hanif alias Hanna son Rustom (all residents of village Basai Meo, District Noonh). Under this conspiracy, during the consolidation process of the village, these accused proposed to the consolidation officers to construct two illegal routes on behalf of the Gram Panchayat.
After passing the resolution and setting illegal routes, these routes were illegally constructed. The main objective of these routes was to use in bringing illegal mining materials, which made inappropriate economic benefits. ACB Gurugram has made some important arrests in this case earlier. Sher Mohammad son Ishaq (resident of village Basai Meo) and three then then the consolidation department have already been arrested.
In addition, ACB has also announced a cash reward of Rs 50,000-50,000 to catch the three accused who are absconding in the case Shabir, Shaukat and Hanif alias Hannah. The prosecution is still going on and ACB believes that there may be more revelations in this case. This action reflects the strict commitment of the bureau against illegal mining and rigging elements in government processes.
