Panchkula. The Anti -Corruption Bureau (ACB) Panchkula has filed a charge sheet in the Additional Sessions Judge Court Panchkula against the women assistant sub -inspector (ASI) Lajwanti accused in a corruption case on 22 April 2025 yesterday, on 22 April 2025. Lajwanti was posted at Sector 20, Panchkula police station. He has been charged under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. The case is based on the complaint given by a complainant to the ACB. The complainant had alleged that some persons cheated his brother Rajat for a total of Rs 3,39,000/-. In this regard, he lodged a complaint at Sector 20, Panchkula police station. According to the complainant, the investigating officer of this complaint was the woman ASI Lajwanti demanded a bribe of Rs 30,000/- to register a case against the fraudsters.
The complainant recorded the conversation between himself and the accused woman ASI Lajwanti related to the demand for this bribe. Based on this recording, on 3 October 2022, under Section 7 of the FIR No. 11, Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, against women ASI Lajwanti.
ACB Panchkula conducted a thorough investigation into the case and after gathering adequate evidence, has presented a charge sheet against the accused woman ASI Lajwanti in the court. This action reflects the ACB’s commitment against corruption and the policy of zero tolerance towards corrupt conduct by government employees. Now further legal proceedings in this case will be before the court.
