Mumbai The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has started raids today on the close associates of gangster and international terrorist Dawood Ibrahim and the hawala operators who helped him. The investigating agency has raided more than a dozen places. According to sources, raids are going on in Nagpada, Borivali, Goregaon, Bhendi Bazar, Mumbra, Santacruz and many other places in Mumbai, which were Dawood’s strongholds. Dawood Ibrahim fled to Pakistan along with his family after the 1993 Mumbai blasts. There has been no news of him since then. It is said that he lives in the posh Clifton area of Karachi. Even after absconding from India, he has relations with hawala operators and drug dealers through his close friends.
Even before this, several times the CBI and other agencies had raided Dawood’s close friends in Mumbai and many cities of Maharashtra. This time NIA has raided. It is being told that after getting concrete information, the investigating agency has taken this action. India has placed Dawood Ibrahim in the most wanted list. According to Indian intelligence agencies, Pakistan’s army and its governments give protection to Dawood.
Although Pakistan has been continuously saying that Dawood is not with him, but India has given evidence of his being in Karachi many times and even the number of Pakistani passport. Dawood’s address is also mentioned in the dossier given to Pakistan. Dawood’s daughter Mahrukh is also married to the son of Pakistani cricketer Javed Miandad. After fleeing to Pakistan, Dawood Ibrahim used to do black business in Mumbai through his sister Haseena Parkar. After the death of his sister, now the henchmen have taken care of this work.
