An incident has come to light from Sonbhadra district of Uttar Pradesh, which has once again exposed the increasing mental stress and family imbalance in rural areas. It was not a conspiracy to crime, nor was there any collective violence, but it was a terrible culmination of a breakdown of a relationship and momentary anger, in which one killed his spouse and then killed himself as well.
The forest had come out to pick chironji, did not return
Rajendra Gurjar, a resident of Palpal village of Barconia police station area, along with his wife Rita, went to pick a chironji in the forest. It started like a common day, but while returning from the forest, there was no fruit, nor hope – there were two corpses. The forest, which was a means of livelihood, became a witness to an unusual end.
Momentary anger or long mental stress?
According to sources, there was a dispute between the two in the forest about something. It is easy to say that “murdered angrily after the controversy,” But in reality, this question is big – was it just an immediate quarrel or the explosion of the buzzing of years?
Additional Superintendent of Police Kalu Singh said that Rajendra attacked his wife’s neck with an ax, killing him on the spot. After this, he himself committed suicide by hanging himself with his wife’s sari.
