The incident of suicide in Pune last month not only made the police alert, but during the investigation, it was revealed which surprised everyone. A creepy sex -sharing racket was operated from Kolkata about 1900 km away from Kolkata. On the basis of technical investigation, the Pune police busted 6 accused, who used to trap people across the country in a very vicious manner.

The case came to light on 15 May 2024 when 35 -year -old Kiran Namdev Dater, who lives in Dighi area of Pune, committed suicide by hanging himself in his house at around 9:30 pm. Saurabh Sharad Vikar, a relative of the deceased, lodged a complaint, expressing doubts with the police that it could be a part of a deep conspiracy, not suicide. On this, the Dighi police took the case seriously and started the investigation.
Blackmailing game with porn videos
Kiran’s mobile was investigated during the police investigation. Her WhatsApp history revealed that she was in contact with the call girl and some objectionable pictures and videos of her were recorded on a video call. After this, blackmailing started – first Rs 12,000, then this amount reached Rs 51 lakh. Kiran committed suicide due to this mental pressure and depression.
Racket racket caught in Kolkata
Through technical surveillance and number tracing, the police team found evidence of the activities of this racket in the Nagar Bazar area of Kolkata. After this, the Pune police arrested 6 accused – Jagdish Singh, Naveen Kumar, Mahesh Ram, Sagar Mahendra Ram, Murali Hiralal Kewat, Amar Kumar Rajendra Ram and Dhiren Kumar Raj Kumar Pandey.
Huge amount of evidence recovered
During the arrest, the police recovered 15 smartphones, 7 voice changing devices, 40 SIM cards, 14 debit cards, 8 Aadhaar and PAN cards, 8 notebooks, and Rs 5 lakh cash from them.
Racket used to work like this
The modes of this gang was very shocking. These people used to make Gmail IDs with fake names and describe themselves as call girls on social media. The top class call girls from Google used to collapse the victims by collecting photos and numbers. Once the video call started, recording was done by making obscene things through voice changing devices. Then millions of rupees were recovered by threatening to make the same weapons viral on social media.

The Pune Police has appealed to the common citizens to be vigilant and asked to inform the police immediately on getting information about any person or number involved in such activities. This case is also a serious warning of increasing dangers of cyber crime, in which the negligence of the digital world can also be fatal.
