After all, why the Waqf Amendment Bill-2025 can be delayed, this big reason has come to light

Today, during the prayer of Jumme at the conclusion of Ramadan month, the Muslim community expressed symbolic protest against the Waqf Amendment Bill at many places in the country. In fact, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) had asked Muslims across the country to offer black bands and offer prayers. AIMPLB filed this appeal against the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024. On the call of All India Muslim Personal Law Board, peaceful prayers were performed in Saharanpur, Sambhal, Gorakhpur, Aligarh and other districts of Uttar Pradesh by tying a black band on their hands. During this time, the police administration was cautious, due to which the peace system was not disturbed anywhere. Meanwhile, news has come that the central government is preparing to bring the Waqf Amendment Bill on 31 March after Eid.

After Eid, the Waqf Bill can be discussed in the Lok Sabha.

According to sources, after April 1, the Waqf Amendment Bill can be brought to the Lok Sabha for discussion and passage. According to sources, the Central Government has planned not to introduce the Waqf Amendment Bill till Eid at the request of NDA constituents JDU and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Nitish is worried about his image.

Recently, the Iftar party organized by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was boycotted by several important Muslim organizations and ulema, after which Nitish has been worried about his image. A day after the Iftar party, there was strong slogans and political rhetoric against Nitish Kumar in a protest against the Waqf Amendment Bill by Muslim organizations in Bihar. On the other hand, preparations are going on to oppose this bill across the country. However, the BJP claims that the bill has been finalized.

JDU scared of this bill on Bihar assembly elections

As far as JDU is concerned, it has been theoretically in favor of the Waqf Amendment Bill. JDU has also repeatedly claimed to be in support of the bill. The revised Waqf Bill has also included all the suggestions made by the minorities of Bihar to Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, but still Nitish Kumar and his party fear that the bill will affect the Bihar assembly elections in October-November.

‘It may take some time’

Why is there a delay in bringing this bill? This question can be understood from the fact that on Tuesday, the Lok Sabha Assembly Secretariat had announced to organize the final workshop for MPs of all parties to give information on the Waqf Bill, but the meeting was canceled at the last minute. Government sources say that you may have to wait a little longer regarding the Waqf Amendment Bill. There is also a possibility that this bill should be brought in the next session instead of this session. At the same time, opposition parties are in a mood to fight this bill till the end.

BJP and NDA kept quiet.

When will the Waqf Amendment Bill come officially and what is the reason for the delay? On this, the constituents of NDA including BJP and JDU have kept silence. The Central Government is blaming other legislative works in Parliament for delay in the Waqf Amendment Bill. However, internal sources are also saying that NDA colleague Chandrababu Naidu has promised the Muslim community to protect the Waqf property.
