Ahmedabad. Wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan, who returned last year after leaving the South Africa tour midway, had to face bad consequences for not playing domestic cricket. BCCI recently removed Ishan Kishan from the central contract list. In this connection, he talked to BCCI Secretary Jai Shah after the Mumbai Indians match on Sunday evening, which has given him a ray of hope.
25-year-old Ishaan from Jharkhand had returned to India midway from the South Africa tour last year citing travel fatigue. He also did not show interest in playing first class cricket. Despite repeated requests from the Indian team management, he did not play a single Ranji match this season. He continued preparing for the IPL with Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya in Baroda.
He could not even open his account against Gujarat Titans in the first match of IPL. Shah was seen talking to Ishaan and Indian captain Rohit Sharma. It is not known what the conversation was about, but the BCCI Secretary talking to him like this is being considered as a ray of hope for him.
After the return of Rishabh Pant, it seems difficult for Ishan to make a place in the T20 World Cup team as KL Rahul is also keeping wickets. Sanju Samson has made a great start in the IPL while Dhruv Jurel and Jitesh Sharma are also in the race.
Ishan flopped in the first match of IPL
Ishan Kishan has a chance to show his strength in IPL after being out of Team India. However, when he came to play against Gujarat Titans in the first match, he failed to score runs. This opener of Mumbai Indians, who came to start the innings, faced 4 balls and returned without opening the account.
