The accounts of the Congress Party have been sealed in the case related to the Income Tax Department.
Now the Income Tax Department has issued a notice to CPI.
New Delhi. Communist Party of India (cpi) has received a notice from the Income Tax Department regarding payment of ‘dues’ of Rs 11 crore for using old PAN cards while filing returns during the last few years. Sources gave this information on Friday. He said that the Left party is consulting its lawyers to challenge the notice of the Income Tax authorities. Sources said the “dues” to be paid to the Income Tax Department include penalty and interest payable to authorities for “discrepancies” in the party’s use of the old PAN card.
A CPI leader told PTI, “We are taking legal aid and consulting our lawyers.” Earlier, the Congress had said that it had received a notice from the Income Tax Department, in which the party has been asked to pay dues of over Rs 1,823 crore for discrepancies in tax returns filed for previous years. Trinamool Congress leader Saket Gokhale has also claimed that he has received 11 notices from the Income Tax Department in the last 72 hours.

A comment was also made by America regarding the sealing of Congress Party’s accounts. The US State Department said that they are keeping an eye on this matter. After this, India also gave a befitting reply to the US. On behalf of MEA, it was said that we will not tolerate any outside interference in personal matters. A day earlier, India had summoned the US Ambassador after America’s comments regarding the arrest of CM Arvind Kejriwal.
