Nepal’s Foreign Minister Arju Deuba Rana
Kathmandu: After the re-formation of KP Sharma Oli’s government in Nepal, Foreign Minister Arju Deuba Rana is coming to New Delhi on Sunday for a five-day visit to India. A Nepal minister gave this information on Friday. This visit has been approved in the cabinet meeting. This program was earlier fixed for health checkup. Communication and Information Technology Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung said that Rana’s visit is taking place after the cabinet meeting held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli. In the meeting, the program of the visit of the delegation led by the Foreign Minister to India was approved.
Rana is also the wife of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba. This will be Rana’s first official foreign visit after assuming office. Foreign Ministry sources said that Rana will meet Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar and other officials during this visit. Rana’s visit comes a week after India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri visited Nepal. According to Foreign Ministry sources, 62-year-old Rana was earlier scheduled to come to Delhi for a routine health check-up, but the visit became official after receiving an invitation from the Indian government.
Bilateral talks will be held with S Jaishankar
Rana will hold bilateral talks with Foreign Minister S Jaishankar during her 5-day visit to India. She will reiterate the resolve to strengthen India-Nepal relations. According to sources, during this time Foreign Minister Rana will visit a leading private hospital in New Delhi for check-up related to her previous operation for ‘hyperparathyroidism’. (Language)
