Looking at the trends of the Uttar Pradesh assembly election results, it is clear that the Bharatiya Janata Party government is going to be formed once again in the state and the command will remain in the hands of the current Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. On the other hand, the performance of the Samajwadi Party in the state has also been relatively low. The Congress and the Bahujan Samaj Party have been pushed to the margins. Meanwhile, leader Rakesh Tikait, who has been in the headlines through the farmers’ movement, has given his reaction on the election results.
Talking to the media, Rakesh Tikait said that we are doing our work. Who wins in the election does not matter to us because our movement is not weakened by it. Our movement is very successful.

Responding to the question whether the farmers have also voted for the BJP in the election, Rakesh Tikait said that the farmers may seem to have voted for the Bharatiya Janata Party, but they are with us in the movement. Whatever be the government, if there is a flaw in their policy, then agitations will be held in future also. He said that it is very difficult to say what is going on in the mind of a person while casting his vote. Yet in Punjab and Uttar Pradesh development work has not been done in the last years.
Let us inform that in the last years, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait had made a big movement on many issues including Kisan Bill. It seemed that the farmers’ movement would have an impact on these assembly elections. During this, he was also seen on several occasions with the leaders of the Samajwadi Party and other opposition parties. But the election results have made it clear that no matter how strong the farmers’ movement may have run, it does not seem to have any adverse effect on the BJP politically.
