The Indian team had to face defeat by an innings and 32 runs against South Africa on the third day of the Centurion Test match. In this match, Team India appeared completely weak in front of the host team in both batting and bowling departments. While Indian captain Rohit Sharma looked disappointed after the defeat, he also told where the team made a big mistake in this match. Team India’s batsmen definitely disappointed everyone with their performance in both the innings of this match.
The bowlers did not take proper advantage of the conditions
After losing the toss in this match, the Indian team was able to score only 245 runs in its first innings, in which KL Rahul’s century played an important role in reaching this score. Captain Rohit said after the defeat that after coming to bat first, Rahul batted brilliantly and took us to a good score, but after that we could not take better advantage of the conditions with the ball. Whereas today we could not do anything special with the bat in our second innings. If we want to win the Test match, we will have to come together, which we were not able to do in this match. Some players have played here before and we know what is expected from everyone.
We did not bat well in both innings
Rohit Sharma further said in his statement after the defeat that he is going to hit a ground boundary. We saw the players of the South African team scoring. We have to understand the strength of the opposing team. We did not bat well in both the innings of this match due to which we are standing in this position. There are not many positives for us after the match ends in three days, but KL showed with his batting how to bat on such a pitch. Many of our bowlers have not played here before so I do not want to criticize them too much.
