Churu. The whole country is boiling over the brutal rape and murder of a lady doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College. Doctors across the country have come out on the streets over this case. Meanwhile, a big incident has come to light in a hospital in Churu, Rajasthan. Subhash Sihag, emergency ward in-charge of Churu Government Bhartiya Hospital, has been accused of molesting and attempting to rape a 20-year-old trainee girl. Hurt by the incident, the victim later tried to commit suicide by consuming poison but was saved.
The victim is currently being treated at Bhartiya Hospital. As soon as the information about the incident came to light, the local hospital administration was in a panic. After the case reached the government level, Medical and Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar immediately ordered the suspension of the accused. After that, the accused ward in-charge Subhash Sihag has been suspended. DSP Sunil Jhajharia is investigating the case.
The incident was carried out on 15 August
Churu’s Dudhwakhara police station in-charge Ratanlal said that a 20-year-old girl from a village in the area gave a written statement that she is undergoing training for GDA (General Duty Assistant) in the emergency ward of Government DB Hospital located at Churu district headquarters under skill development. The in-charge of this ward, Subhash Sihag, took her to a room on the roof of the ward on August 15. He molested her there. He did not stop even after she protested. The accused molested her and tried to rape her.
The victim consumed poison at home
The victim alleges that he threatened her and used abusive caste-related language. Hurt by this incident, the girl tried to commit suicide by consuming poison at her home on Saturday afternoon. This worsened her health. But when the family came to know about it in time, they rushed her to the hospital. The victim’s family also says that she told at home that Subhash Sihag had tried to force himself on her. Distressed by this, she consumed poison.
The investigation has been handed over to DSP Sunil Jhajharia
On the basis of the girl’s written statement, the police have registered a case against emergency ward in-charge Subhash Sihag for molestation and under serious sections of the SC/ST Act. The investigation of the case has been handed over to DSP Sunil Jhajharia. The victim is undergoing treatment in the Medicine ICU ward of Bhartiya Hospital.
