Every year after the rains, dengue cases start increasing in Delhi NCR. This figure becomes severe by the time August and September arrive. However, this time hospitals have already started making arrangements to prevent mosquito-borne diseases like dengue, chikungunya and malaria. Instructions are being issued to deal with dengue cases in government hospitals in Delhi, while the Union Health Ministry has also asked all hospitals to remain active.
Director and MS of Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Dr. Ajay Shukla said that dengue cases start coming in these months. In such a situation, all preparations have been completed in RML Hospital along with discussions with doctors of all departments regarding dengue. However, no positive case has come in the hospital so far. In such a situation, separate wards have not been made for dengue, but as soon as any case comes, it will be dealt with with full promptness. The hospital has adequate arrangements from platelets to fluids.

Dr. Shukla said that the Health Ministry itself is monitoring the arrangements for dengue and malaria. A few days ago, a ministry meeting was also held in which all hospitals were asked to remain alert. Along with this, the preparations were also reviewed.
Not only this, in Delhi government hospital LNJP also, doctors of different departments have been asked to remain alert about dengue. However, as long as positive cases of dengue are not coming in the hospitals, dengue wards have not been made but other arrangements are being made for the patients.
