Sanjay Roy, the accused arrested in the rape and murder case of a lady doctor in a government hospital in Kolkata, has made many shocking revelations. The information given by the police now suggests that the accused was a complete beast. He told that after raping the lady doctor and killing her, Roy went home and slept peacefully. Then the next morning when he woke up, the first thing he did was wash his clothes to erase the evidence.
However, it is said that a single mistake of a criminal proves costly for him and this proved true in Sanjay Roy’s case as well. He removed all the blood stains but he missed one spot and that became his death. Police have found blood stains on his shoes, which they have kept as evidence.
Sanjay is a civic volunteer, which is also called civil police in the local dialect. The police arrested him on Saturday evening. A Bluetooth earphone which got connected to his phone immediately became a big evidence in his arrest. According to the police, many pornographic videos have also been found from his phone.
Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal said, “After committing the crime, the accused went home and slept till late Friday morning. After waking up, he washed the clothes he was wearing during the crime to destroy evidence. During the search, his shoes were found, which had blood stains on them.” When asked if anyone else was involved in the crime as some people are alleging, he said, “There is no evidence of this yet.”
Goyal said the police are waiting for the final post-mortem report as they want to match it with the findings of their investigation. Goyal said the police are not trying to hide anything and the investigation is transparent. He said they will soon start a toll-free number on which people can register suggestions or complaints. However, the protesting junior doctors said they will continue their protest until they are fully satisfied and their demands related to security are addressed. After the meeting with Goyal, a junior doctor said that work will remain closed in all emergency and non-emergency services.
