Government called a meeting
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav on Saturday said Google will not be allowed to remove Indian apps from the Play Store in this manner. The government has also said that it will convene a meeting next week to resolve the bill payment dispute between app developers and Google. After the tough stance of the Indian government, Google immediately withdrew its decision and reinstated the apps on the Play Store.
Earlier, Google had informed that Play Store is used by more than two lakh Indian app developers. There is the same policy for all app developers but there are some app developers who are not ready to accept the billing policy. He was warned several times but he did not listen. After this it was decided to remove the apps.
Supreme Court refused to interfere
Let us tell you that the fee dispute between Google and app developers has been going on for a long time. A case was also registered in the Supreme Court in this matter, but on 9 February 2024, the court refused to interfere in this matter. Google said that the apps which were removed were given 3 years time but they refused to follow the policy.
