Doctors’ strike resumes after last night’s vandalism
After the vandalism that took place last night at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, the doctors’ strike is going to start once again. FORDA has announced this today. Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association India i.e. FORDA said that in view of the incident that took place at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, we stand with our colleagues and the medical community.
Condemnation of central and state government
Further said that we believe that our previous decision to withdraw the strike was taken on the basis of goodwill. There is distress and disappointment in our society over the assurances given to us by the Ministry. The incident that happened last night has shocked and distressed us. This is like a black chapter for our profession. We strongly condemn the Central Government and the State Government for yesterday’s incident. In view of the recent incident, we have again decided to start the strike with immediate effect.
what happened last night
Last night, a crowd of hundreds entered RG Kar Medical College and Hospital and created a lot of ruckus. It is worth mentioning that last night 100 to 150 people suddenly entered RG Kar Medical College Hospital and started vandalizing the hospital. First of all, the crowd broke the stage where the doctors were sitting and protesting. After this, the crowd did not spare the police either, they also vandalized the parked police vehicles. After this, all the machines kept in both the wards in the emergency of the hospital were broken. From the CCU of the emergency to the observation department, everything has been destroyed.
