Shimla : The incidents of forest fires are not stopping. After Uttarakhand and Jammu, now forests in Solan, Himachal Pradesh have caught fire. The forest department staff is trying to control the fire. The help of fire brigade is also being taken. Local people say that the forests of Solan have been on fire for the last two-three days and it is difficult to control it. However, all the villagers have been trying for some time. Earlier, a forest in Hamirpur had caught fire.
Woman burnt alive in forest fire
Two days ago, a 75-year-old woman was burnt alive in a forest fire in Himachal’s Hamirpur district. The deceased has been identified as Nikki Devi, a resident of Bagaitu village in Hamirpur. Actually, the forest fire had reached Nikki Devi’s fields, which she was trying to extinguish, but she herself got caught in it and was burnt alive. This is the second incident of death due to forest fire in Hamirpur district in two weeks. Earlier on May 29, in Chakmoh area, a woman died of suffocation during a forest fire.
Fire in the forests of Uttarakhand, four forest workers died
Let us tell you that the forests of Uttarakhand are also on fire. Four forest workers were killed and four others were seriously burnt in a fire in Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary under Civil Soyam Forest Division in Almora district. This accident happened on June 12 at around 3:45 pm when a team of eight forest workers reached the spot to extinguish the fire after receiving information about the fire in the wildlife sanctuary. As soon as this team got down from the vehicle, the flames of the fire increased with strong wind and engulfed them too, due to which four forest workers died on the spot. Due to hot and dry weather, fire has started flaring up in the forests again. (Input-Agency)
