New Delhi. NCERT has shortened the chapter on Ayodhya in the social science book for class 12. Apart from this, the name of Babri Masjid has also been removed from this chapter. In place of Babri Masjid, a three-domed structure has been written in the NCERT book for class 12 students. Earlier, NCERT’s class 12 book had a 4-page chapter on Ayodhya. It has now been reduced to 2 pages.
According to the English newspaper Indian Express, the lesson on Ayodhya that NCERT has now included in its 12th class social science book includes information about BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani’s Rath Yatra from Somnath to Ayodhya, the role of karsevaks, violence after the demolition of Babri Masjid, President’s rule in many states and BJP’s regret over the demolition of the Babri structure. NCERT had mentioned in its earlier book that Babur’s commander Mir Baqi had built the Babri Masjid in Ayodhya in the 16th century. Now it has been mentioned in the book that a three-domed structure was built at the birthplace of Shri Ram in Ayodhya in the year 1528.
It is written in the book that many Hindu symbols were made in this structure. Apart from this, it is told that many statues were made in the inner and outer part of the structure with 3 domes. It is also written in the new book of NCERT that in the Ayodhya case, the Hindu community felt that their faith was being tampered with. The Supreme Court’s decision of 2019 has also found a place in the Ayodhya chapter of the new book. After 2014, NCERT has changed the 12th class books for the fourth time. Earlier it had made many changes in the history book. Now the latest change on Ayodhya can lead to the possibility of politics heating up again.
