Youth wishing to become Agniveer in the Indian Army can apply till 22 March. This process has been going on since February 13. After March 22, the Indian Army will not accept applications for fresh recruitment drive for Agniveer Scheme. According to the information given by the Indian Army, to apply for any post under the Agniveer Scheme, the age of the youth should be at least 17.6 years. Only youth up to the maximum age of 21 years can fill the form for Agniveer Yojana. Youth wishing to do general duty under Agniveer Yojana should have passed 10th examination with 45 percent marks. For Clerk and Shopkeeper Technical post, the candidate should have passed 12th examination with 60 percent marks. Indian Army will not accept the forms of youth who do not fulfill the eligibility criteria. Under the Agniveer Scheme, soldiers are recruited in the Indian Army, Indian Navy and Indian Air Force for 4 years. 25 percent of the youth recruited in this get further opportunities after their better performance in the three armies. There is a provision in the Agniveer scheme to retire the rest after a period of 4 years. Under this scheme, an amount of about Rs 12 lakh is given to the retiring soldiers. There is no provision to give any kind of pension to the retiring soldiers under Agniveer Yojana. Other facilities are also available during employment.
