There is big news about the blast before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Jammu and Kashmir. It is being said that an IED could be the reason for the blast which took place at some distance from the rally site. On Sunday, the Prime Minister reached the Union Territory for the first time after the abrogation of Article 370. He had participated in the Panchayati Diwas celebrations held at Palli in Samba district.
An India Today report quoted sources as saying that the IED dropped from the drone could be the reason for the blast, which happened a few hours before the PM’s visit. According to the report, residents of Lalian village of Bishnah area of Jammu had reported about the blast on Sunday. Since then the security agencies were alert. Locals have claimed that they had also heard a drone-like sound before the blast.
According to the report, sources in the security forces said that the investigation is going on from the angle that the IED was dropped by drone. A top official told the channel, “Terrorist groups like Jaish and Lashkar-e-Taiba are troubled. Terrorist groups wanted to stop the rally. Both Jaish and LeT have drones which they could have deployed.
According to the report, sources believe that the attack on PM Modi’s rally may increase tension on the border. Soon after the incident, the PM’s Special Protection Group (SPG) was informed about the blast in Lalian. Initially, local police had said that the mysterious explosion could have been a meteorite or a lightning strike. However, the police immediately started action in the area and soil samples were taken for forensics.
During the visit of Jammu and Kashmir, PM Modi has given gifts worth about 20 thousand crores to the region. After the Union Territory, the PM attended the program organized in Mumbai, where he was awarded the first Lata Deenanath Mangeshkar Award.
