Ahmedabad. Gujarat ATS on Friday recovered an important clue from the wreckage of Air India aircraft crashed in Ahmedabad. According to officials, a digital video recorder (DVR) has been found from the scene, which may reveal the cause of the accident. A senior ATS official said, “This is a digital video recorder, which our team has recovered from the wreckage at the scene. DVR will soon be sent to Forensic Science Lab (FSL), where experts will investigate it thoroughly.”
Officials believe that important visuals associated with activities may be captured just before and after the accident in DVR, which will prove to be helpful in adding links of the entire accident. The ATS team is currently present at the scene and other possible electronic evidence is also being gathered.
After the FSL team arrives at the spot, the process of technical checking of DVR will be initiated, to find out if any useful footage in this device is safe. Along with this, officials of Air India and Ministry of Civil Aviation are also keeping an eye on the matter.
Significantly, the aircraft was completely damaged in this aircraft accident on Thursday. The causes of the accident are being investigated from various angles, including technical faults, pilot errors, and possible conspiracy.
According to ATS officials, the investigation of DVR will be able to find out what was the situation within the cockpit at the time of the accident and what steps were taken by the pilots. This will also confirm the black box data, which will be recovered soon.
At present, the team of Air India and DGCA is also investigating separately in this matter. After the recovery of DVR, the investigation process is likely to accelerate. Also read – Click to read your state / city news before the newspaper
