Air quality again reaches severe category, AQI crosses 300

New Delhi . Fog blanketed Delhi on Friday, with the temperature dropping to a minimum of 8 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, Delhi’s air quality deteriorated further, with the air quality index (AQI) recorded at 348, which is in the “very poor” category. The Central Pollution Control Board resumed data updates after a day’s break.

According to the Central Pollution and Control Board (CPCB), the number in the capital Delhi stood at 348 till 7:30 am on Friday. The score is 214 in Faridabad, 252 in Gurgaon, 285 in Ghaziabad, 291 in Greater Noida and 253 in Noida, whereas in most areas of Delhi the AQI level remains between 300 and above 400. 372 in Alipore, 366 in Ashok Vihar, 372 in Burari Crossing, 305 in Mathura Road, 376 in Dr. Karni Singh Shooting Range, 355 in Dwarka Sector 8, 325 in IGI Airport, 356 in ITO, 397 in Jahangirpuri, Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. 344, Lodhi Road 309, Mandir Marg The marks are 355, 365 in Mundka, 395 in Narendra Nagar, 345 in North Campus DU, 383 in Okhla Phase 2, 323 in Patparganj, 335 in Sri Aurobindo Marg, 392 in Wazirpur.

With the beginning of the New Year, the havoc of pollution continues in Delhi. Due to worsening air condition, people of Delhi are facing many problems. Along with having trouble breathing, people are also experiencing burning sensation in the eyes.

Let us tell you, if the AQI of an area remains between 0 to 50, then it is called good category air quality. Between 51 and 100 is considered satisfactory air quality. An AQI range of 101 and 200 is considered moderate. If the AQI of a place is between 201 to 300, then the AQI of that area is considered ‘bad’.

Meanwhile, IMD has expressed hope of relief in the cold. According to IMD, there may be a slight increase in temperature in the coming days due to the influence of a new western disturbance. The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be around 17 degrees Celsius on Friday and rise to 18 degrees Celsius by Saturday.
