New Delhi. Congress on Saturday released the fourth list of 46 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections, in which the most prominent names are that of party’s Uttar Pradesh unit president Ajay Rai and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Digvijay Singh. Ajay Rai has been made the candidate against Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Varanasi, while Digvijay Singh has been given the ticket from Rajgarh in Madhya Pradesh.
According to the fourth list of candidates released by the party, 17th Lok Sabha member Danish Ali, who joined Congress from Bahujan Samaj Party, has been given ticket from Amroha. He currently represents this parliamentary constituency. Congress has made famous Muslim leader of Western Uttar Pradesh, Imran Masood, its candidate from Saharanpur.
Tanuj Punia, son of former MP PM Punia, has been given the ticket from Barabanki seat of Uttar Pradesh. Vikas Thackeray has been declared the candidate against Union Minister Nitin Gadkari from Nagpur, Maharashtra. In Tamil Nadu, Congress has fielded its MPs Manickam Tagore from Virudhunagar, Karti Chidambaram from Sivagangai, Jyoti Mani from Karur and Vijay Vasanth from Kanyakumari.

Guddu Raja Bundela from Sagar, Neelam Mishra from Rewa, Phundelal Marco from Shahdol, Dinesh Yadav from Jabalpur, Samrat Saraswat from Balaghat, Sanjay Sharma from Hoshangabad, Arun Srivastava from Bhopal, Digvijay Singh from Rajgarh, Mahesh Parmar from Ujjain, Dilip Singh from Mandsaur. Gurjar, Kantilal Bhuria from Ratlam and Akshay Kanti Bam from Indore have been given tickets.
The party has so far announced 183 candidates for the Lok Sabha elections. He had declared 39 candidates in the first list, 43 in the second list and 56 in the third list. Elections for the 18th Lok Sabha in the country will start from April 19. After this, voting will be held in six more phases on 26 April, 7 May, 13 May, 20 May, 25 May and 1 June. About 97 crore registered voters in 543 constituencies of Lok Sabha will be able to exercise their franchise at 10.5 lakh polling stations.
