Ajmer. The festival of Eid-ul-Fitr was celebrated with pomp in Ajmer, Rajasthan. After offering prayers at Idgah in Kesarganj, Syed Naseeruddin Chishti, the successor of Ajmer Dargah, congratulated the people.
He said, “Allah’s favor is that we keep a month’s fast and now Eid is celebrating. It is our luck that we live in a country with Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb like Hindustan. Here Chetichand and Navratri were celebrated here tomorrow, Eid is happening today. This is our strength.”
He greeted all the countrymen for all the three festivals. Naseeruddin also spoke on the Waqf Bill amendment. He said, “The change in the Waqf Bill was necessary, but some people are unable to understand and are protesting. They may have problems with some parts. When it comes to Parliament, it will be debated and everything will be clear.”
They believe that this bill will secure the property of Waqf and bring transparency. He said, “There is an attempt to mislead people that mosques or cemeteries will be snatched away, but it is not. It is not a matter of Sharia, but is a question of running Waqf better.”
He praised PM Modi and said, “PM Modi helped poor Muslims in Ramadan. This included him in the happiness of Eid and also got his prayers. This is a good initiative.”
At the same time, Naseeruddin disagreed on Yogi Adityanath’s statement “not a Hindu among Muslims”. He said, “I do not agree with this. Hindus and Muslims are all safe in India. It is a country of Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb. It can be a personal view of Yogi ji.”
Naseeruddin described the unity of the country as necessary. He said, “Our country is progressing together. People of all religions here congratulate each other. This is our identity.”
