Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav is embroiled in a new controversy regarding the ‘Swati Maliwal assault case’. In the press conference held in Lucknow, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal remained silent on the questions of journalists related to Swati Maliwal. He did not give any answer, but Akhilesh Yadav jumped in and gave an absurd answer. Akhilesh said, “Hey, there are other things more important than that. BJP people are not related to anyone. BJP is a gang that files false cases.”
Mulayam had said on rape- We are boys, mistakes happen
Let us tell you that Akhilesh Yadav’s late father and former UP CM Mulayam Singh Yadav had given a similar controversial statement. In 2014, in a rally in Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh, Mulayam Singh had said that hanging for rape is wrong. To defend the rapists, he even said that boys make mistakes.
BJP said- What can be expected from Mulayam Singh’s son?
By making such comments in such a sensitive matter, Akhilesh Yadav has come under the target of BJP. Delhi BJP state president Virendra Sachdeva said, “What can be expected from the son of late Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav, who made statements like ‘boys make mistakes’?” He further said, “This shows that How sensitive are these people regarding women’s safety? It is wrong to expect women’s safety from the Indie Coalition.”
He said, “CM Kejriwal was seen with Vibhav Kumar, while Sanjay Singh has accepted the incident of assault with Swati Maliwal. These people are not concerned about women’s self-respect but about their own selfishness.” Taking the Aam Aadmi Party to task, Virendra Sachdeva said, “This party gives shelter to criminals and it is meaningless to expect strict action against the criminals from them. Swati should come forward and give a statement. Possibly there may be political pressure on her, due to which she is avoiding coming forward. On Mayawati’s statement, Virendra Sachdeva said, “I support her statement that the Rajya Sabha Chairman should take cognizance of the matter and arrest the accused.” Strict action should be taken against him.
Kejriwal was seen avoiding questions
CM Arvind Kejriwal and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav held a joint press conference on Thursday in which CM Kejriwal was seen avoiding questions related to the Swati Maliwal assault case. But Akhilesh Yadav said that there are more important issues in the country than this. After he said this, the mic was shifted towards Sanjay Singh, but Akhilesh has now come under the target of BJP because of his statement.
It is noteworthy that recently Swati Maliwal had accused CM Kejriwal’s personal secretary Vibhav Kumar of assault. He had also called Delhi Police twice in this regard.
