Uttar Pradesh News Desk: The pace of construction in Defense Corridor, the dream project of the Central and State Government, has stopped. However, the Defense Corridor is being developed in Andla tehsil. 24 investors had signed an investment agreement with UPEDA, in which till now only Two units have been started. Five are under construction. There is no information yet about the 18 units investing in the Defense Corridor.
Well, the central and state governments had shown big dreams to Aligarh regarding the defense corridor being developed along the Aligarh-Palwal highway in the tehsil. There was talk of exporting weapons from Aligarh. There was talk of making weapons from army equipment to the Prime Minister, Chief Minister. And the Defense Minister had done this. But even after four years of laying the foundation, the picture of the Defense Corridor has not changed. The situation is that the boundary is still being done in some parts. There is no need for lighting, link road and drainage. UPEDA could not make the arrangements. There are no security arrangements for the most important investors. The proposal for the construction of a police post here has been canceled even though it was included in UPEDA’s proposal. The work has been given to Jal Nigam.

There are 18 investors who have to start work in the Defense Corridor. Out of these, eight investors have applied to UPEDA for maps and layout. The matter is still pending. UPEDA informed that there is change in the layout of some investors. Due to which its NOC is obtained from the Defense Ministry. It will be issued after permission from there. Eight to ten investors are not taking forward the investment due to non-completion of the infrastructure.

In all works including industrial development, a time limit of four to five years is fixed for starting production after allotment of plot.
