Amalaki Ekadashi 2022: Amalaki Ekadashi is celebrated on the Ekadashi date of Shukla Paksha of Falgun month. Like all Ekadashis it is dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Amalaki Ekadashi auspicious time
According to the Hindu calendar, Ekadashi Tithi will start on March 13 at 10.21 am. The next day is March 14 till 12.05 pm. According to Udaya Tithi, fast will be observed on 14th March. This year Sarvartha Siddhi Yoga is being formed on Amalaki Ekadashi. This auspicious and fruitful yoga will last from 06.32 minutes in the morning to 10.08 minutes in the night. The fasting period is from 06.31 am to 08.55 am on March 15.
Keeping fast in Pushya Nakshatra is beneficial
It is said that if Amalaki Ekadashi fast is kept in Pushya Nakshatra. Then its virtue increases manifold. In such a situation, the person gets freedom from the cycle of life and death after death. This year on Amalaki Ekadashi, Pushya Nakshatra night is up to 10.08 minutes.
Significance of Amalaki Ekadashi
On the day of Amalaki Ekadashi, Lord Vishnu is worshiped by sitting under the gooseberry tree. According to the legend, for the creation of the universe, Shri Hari first gave birth to Brahma. At that time Narayan also gave birth to a gooseberry tree. That’s why they love Amla very much. It is believed that by worshiping sitting under a gooseberry tree, one gets the same virtue as donating a thousand cows. On the day of Amalaki Ekadashi, Amla worship, bath with gooseberry water and charity should also be done. This pleases God.
