Aman Sehrawat at Olympics 2024

India’s star wrestler Aman Sehrawat has lost in the semi-finals of the 57 kg weight category. With this, another bad news has come out for India in wrestling. However, his journey in the Olympics 2024 is not over yet. He can still win a bronze medal for India. However, if he had entered the final, his gold or silver would have been confirmed, but he could not do so. He had to face defeat from Japan’s Rei Higuchi in the semi-final match.

Aman is India’s last hope in wrestling

Aman Sehrawat is India’s last hope in the wrestling event of Olympics 2024. India is expecting a medal from him. India has not won a single medal in wrestling yet. Aman will play his bronze medal match on 09 August at 09:45 pm. In such a situation, the eyes of the whole country will be on this match. Aman Sehrawat’s bronze medal match will be played against 29-year-old Darian Toi Cruz of Puerto Rico. If Aman wins his match against this wrestler, he will win a bronze medal for India.

India suffered a setback in wrestling

India suffered the biggest setback in the wrestling event at the Paris Olympics when Vinesh Phogat was disqualified just before her final match on Wednesday. She was scheduled to compete for the gold medal against USA’s Sarah Hildebrandt in her final match, but was eliminated for being only 100 grams overweight in the 50 kg category. However, she has appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS) for the silver medal. Which has been accepted by CAS on Thursday. A decision will be taken on this issue on Friday morning. India has won a total of four bronze medals in the Olympics so far. In which three have won in shooting and the hockey team has won one medal.
