Ghee has been used as a home remedy in our country since ancient times because it contains many nutrients which are very effective for our body.
According to Dr. Smita Srivastava (BAMS Ayurveda), Medical Officer in-charge of Shivgarh Ayurvedic Hospital, Rae Bareli, ghee is a good source of energy. Apart from this, many antioxidant properties are found in it which are effective in keeping our body healthy and also in strengthening our immunity system. Most people use it with roti, dal, or other food items. But if ghee is consumed on an empty stomach, it can be extremely beneficial for our health because eating ghee on an empty stomach boosts our metabolism which is effective in maintaining our health.

Ghee is a good source of nutrients like calcium, healthy omega 3 fatty acids and vitamins (A, D, E, K). Minerals are also found in abundance in it. Dr. Smita Srivastava tells that eating one spoon of ghee every day on an empty stomach keeps the cells of our body healthy. Our dry and lifeless skin gets moisture. Which provides relief from wrinkles and pimples on our face. Eating ghee on an empty stomach during winter season provides relief from mild cold along with fever. There is no infection in chest, nose and throat, Vitamin A is found in abundance in it which keeps our brain healthy. Also, ghee contains Omega 3 fatty acids which reduces swelling in osteoporosis patients and those women who are deficient in calcium should eat ghee on an empty stomach. It also fulfills the calcium deficiency and provides relief from weight loss and joint pain.
